LMR is a new generation of RF coaxial cables that offer greater flexibility, ease of installation and lower cost, and are used in transmission lines for aircraft, satellite and communications antennas. LMR cable is a low-loss coaxial cable, especially at high frequencies, its low-loss performance is superior. The number after LMR is a rough value of the cable thickness.
Here we illustrate two types of LMR coaxial cables. The LMR 195 is an outdoor rated flexible low-loss communications coaxial cable, typically with a 50 ohm impedance and low PIM, ideal for short-duration antenna feeder operations. The LMR 400 is also a 50 ohm flexible communication coaxial cable used in wireless communication systems and antenna feeders, with the goal of replacing the RG 8 coaxial cable. The following is the introduction of common LMR series coaxial cables.
Low loss SMA female to SMA male cable assembly using Keesun LMR-195 coaxial cable
The LMR-195 coaxial cable used in this SMA cable assembly uses PE (F) dielectric with 83% VoP parameter, which has the advantage of low insertion loss compared to solid state dielectric. This flexible RF cable assembly is ideal for applications in environments that require bending.
